Escape the Sleepwalking Town is a puzzle adventure gamebook, so do not read it in order. You solve a puzzle, and the answer in the door brick is the page you turn to next.
The story
Nodbury is a hill town of alarm-clock makers. Two hundred years ago Augusta Wakely built the Wake-Up Pyramid on the hilltop, with the Great Alarm in the bell chamber inside its top. On the night of the Pyjama Parade the big drum rolls onto a giant puffball: POOF, Dozy Dust, and three hundred neighbours go on walking fast asleep, arms out, mumbling "five more minutes".
You were in the bandstand cellar and missed it. Now you have a night to work through nine streets of locked doors and ring the Great Alarm before the town sleeps through the morning.
How it plays
Every chamber is one page: a short story beat, a puzzle, and a Next Door box. Solve the puzzle, find the number in the door brick, and turn to that page. A wrong answer sends you to a dead end that tells you which brick to recheck, so a slip costs you a minute and not the whole game.
