FROST VILLAGE PUZZLE HUNT: 24 letters, 24 puzzles, one hidden envelope a day
A printable 24-day countdown game for December (or any 24 days). The animals of Frost Village are getting ready for their Frost Fair, and the Fair Key has gone missing. Each day a villager writes to your child. The letter holds a puzzle; its answer (the KEY) sets a cut-out Scarf Slider, which decodes where tomorrow's envelope is hiding in your home. On Day 24 the last code leads to the Fair Key itself.
THIS IS A PRINTABLE ESCAPE-ROOM-STYLE PUZZLE HUNT, not a book: you print it at home, fill 24 envelopes once, and hide one each evening.
HOW A DAY PLAYS (10-20 minutes)
- Find today's envelope and read the villager's letter
- Solve the puzzle: its answer is the KEY
- Slide the scarf until the gold snowflake sits on the KEY number
- Each picture of the Snow Code now sits under a letter: decode where tomorrow's letter hides
- Wrong KEY? The code turns to nonsense, so every answer checks itself
- Cut out the day's stamp for the Village Album and colour the KEY's snowball
TWO TRACKS, ONE HUNT (so brothers and sisters play together)
- Snowflake Track, ages 7-9: adding and taking away within 50
- Icicle Track, ages 10-12: the four operations, times tables, factors and logic
- Both tracks give the SAME KEY every day, so each child solves at their own level and they decode and search together. One child? Print one track.

You Will Need
Printer (colour or black and white), about 35 sheets of paper for one track (60 for both), scissors, a glue stick, sticky tape, pencils and crayons, 24 envelopes. Print single-sided: many pages are cut up.
