Printable Escape Room Bundle: 3 Winter Holiday Games For The Whole Family
Three printable escape-room-style games for the holiday season: a 24-day December countdown hunt, a coded trail to a hidden present, and a New Year's Eve escape room. You print them at home, cut out the props, fill the envelopes and play. Every answer checks itself, so a grown-up can join in instead of marking answers.
The Three Games
- Frost Village Puzzle Hunt, ages 7-12 (24-day December countdown): the Fair Key has gone missing. One hidden envelope a day holds a villager's letter with a puzzle, and a cut-out Scarf Slider decodes where tomorrow's envelope hides. Two tracks (ages 7-9 and 10-12) give the same KEY every day, so brothers and sisters play together. 48 puzzles; the child's name is typed in once and appears on every letter.
- Cipher Wheel Gift Hunt, ages 6 to adult (present hunt): Cashew the chipmunk has hidden the gift. Solve each clue card, set the cut-out Cipher Wheel and decode the next hiding place. Three trails: ages 6-8 (8 clues), 9-12 (10 clues) and 13 to adult (12 clues). Fits a holiday gift, a birthday or any day.
- Clockmakers' Midnight Escape, ages 8 to adult (New Year's Eve): shut in the clockmakers' workshop, three crews win 12 gear cards and start the paper Grand Clock before midnight. 2 to 12 players, about 60 minutes. Start at about 10:50 pm for real midnight, or choose an early midnight for younger players.
How They Play
- Each answer is a KEY or code that checks itself: a wrong one decodes to nonsense or shows the wrong mark
- 3-step hints for every puzzle (a nudge, the method, the answer) and full answer keys with solved pictures
- Play on paper: no padlocks, boxes or apps. Many kinds of math pyramid puzzle, plus codes, logic and cut-out props
- No holiday figures and no religion: the stories are about winter, a gift and the turn of the year, so they suit every family

You Will Need
A printer (colour looks best; black and white works), paper (Frost Village alone prints about 35 sheets for one track, 60 for both), scissors, tape, pencils, crayons, a glue stick, one paper fastener (or a pencil tip) and envelopes: 24 for Frost Village, 19 for the Midnight Escape, optional for the Gift Hunt. Set-up: about an hour for Frost Village (once), 30 to 45 minutes for the Gift Hunt, about an hour for the Midnight Escape.
